FAQs on Marital disputes involving NRI/PIO spouses

National Commission for Women has set  up a dedicated round the clock (24 x 7) Helpline number (7827170170) for women in distress since 24th July, 2021. The website for the helpline is www.ncwwomenhelpline.in.  The round-the-clock helpline provides online support to women affected by violence or mental stress through referral by linking them with appropriate authorities such as police, health services, District Legal Service Authority. National Commission for Women also provides counselling services and information about women related programmes across the country through a single uniform number. The task force managing this project is a team of high qualified personnel, who are providing emergency response to women in distress.

Government of India remains concerned about the security and well-being of Indians living overseas and of particular concern is the welfare of Indian spouses who are victims of domestic violence. The Consulate has a panel of NGOs to provide relief to such spouses. Persons requiring help may like to check the following links:
