As part of SF Deep Tech Week 2026, the Startup Policy Forum hosted “The DeepTech Decade for India: Building the Next Global Innovation Corridor” on June 23, 2026, bringing India's 100 Desi Deeptechs initiative to Silicon Valley.
Consul General Dr. K Srikar Reddy delivered the keynote address where he spoke to the scale and momentum of India's rise, a country that is now home to the world's 3rd largest startup ecosystem with 130+ unicorns, backed by the Government of India's sustained efforts to nurture and scale this ecosystem, including under Startup India and RDI schemes. He drew attention to key initiatives under the India AI Mission and a rapidly expanding digital public infrastructure as pillars of this growth story. Turning to the India–US relationship, he underscored the growing deeptech collaboration in AI, semiconductors, space, biotechnology, and defense under the TRUST initiative, calling it one of the defining partnerships of our era, with Silicon Valley at its heart.
Shweta Rajpal Kohli, president/CEO, Startup Policy Forum, opened the evening which brought together founders from Orangewood Labs, Neuramill and RayIoT and investors and partners from Accel, Hexaware, IronPillar, MUFG and LAM Capital to explore capital, compute and commercialization opportunities between India and the US.
