The 26th US National Carrom Championship final was launched by Consul General Dr. T.V. Nagendra Prasad at Santa Clara Convention Centre hosted by The United States Carrom Association (USCA) and Bay Area Carrom Association (BACA). Carrom is a tabletop game that is very popular in the Indian subcontinent which is also gaining popularity in US. Ms.Preeti Jakhotia the first woman player from #Bayarea had reached finals. US Assistant Secretary of Commerce for Global Markets and Director General of the US and Foreign Commercial Service Mr. Arun Venkataraman shared insightful developments on trade and investment in the US and overseas. California Governor’s Office of Business and Economic Development (Go-Biz) Deputy Director of International Affairs and Trade Ms. Emily Desai discussed state’s economic strengths & opportunities. California Lieutenant Governor Eleni Kounalakis & CalChamber Board Chairman Kailesh Karavadra shared their perspectives on California’s accomplishments at the Breakfast meeting which also attended by about 1500 government, business leaders & Consular Corps. - June 08, 2022
Hon'ble Minister of State for External Affairs and Parliamentary Affairs Shri V. Muraleedharan addressed the Indian community at the Syro-Malabar Church at Santa Ana, Los Angeles on May 22, 2022. He also replied to several queries from the community. Minister also addressed a large Indian community at BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Mandir in Chino Hills, Los Angeles during the visit. He appreciated the humanitarian activities of BAPS in general and in evacuation of Indians from Ukraine in particular. Consul General Dr. T.V. Nagendra Prasad received Hon'ble Minister of State for External Affairs and Parliamentary Affairs Shri V. Muraleedharan on an official visit to Los Angeles. The visit started with a lively interaction with students from India at the University of Southern California, Los Angeles on the campus. Some community leaders and Dean were also present on the occasion. Students appreciated ‘Vande Bharat’ Mission. Minister shared the vision of New India, initiatives like (New) National Education Policy, Productivity Linked Incentive Scheme and discussed how students abroad can contribute and be part of India’s growth story. - May 25, 2022
Consul General Dr. T.V. Nagendra Prasad was the Chief of Guest on the inauguration ceremony of UV International Inc with 'Made in India' equipment & materials - textile factory in Orange County. Consul General appreciated its CEO Mr. Gaurav Bhargava for his initiative to get the manufacturing equipment from India. Few Indian business community leaders and TiE SoCal office bearers and Mr. Bob Berg of Magic Expo, Las Vegas were present. The Indian Textile Manufacturing equipment is being used to manufacture decorative pillows on large scale. It generates employment in US and imports pillow cases from India - May 24, 2022
Asia Society Northern California Center in San Francisco hosted a panel discussion on ‘Emerging Tech in Asia’. Members of the panel India’s Consul General Dr. T.V. Nagendra Prasad, Philippines Consul General Mr. Neil Frank R. Ferrer, Indonesia’s Consul General Mr. Prasetyo Hadi and Australia Deputy Consul General & Trade and Investment Commission Ms. Odette Hampton gave their insights into critical innovations happening and impacting in their respective countries and around the global markets. Ms. Priya Rajan, Managing Director of Silicon Valley Bank (SVB) Global Gateway moderated the panel discussion. North America Chattisgarh Association (NACHA) – California Chapter led by General Secretary Sonal Agarwal met Consul General Dr. T.V. Nagendra Prasad at the Consulate. Rich tributes were paid by Hon’ble Raksha Mantri Shri Rajnath Singh to #MahatmaGandhi in #Honolulu with traditional Hawaiian Lei ceremony. The statue of Mahatma overlooking the pacific ocean was installed by the Indian community in 1990 and Gandhi Peace Foundation led by Dr. Raj Kumar regularly conduct ceremonies to spread message of Bapu to the world. The Indian community was also present on the occasion at the statue over looking #Pacific. - April 18, 2022
The Indian Fine Arts Academy of San Diego celebrated #AmritMahotsav with Padmashri Aruna Sairam, Gaurav Mazumdar and Amit Kavthekar and others in a week long cultural programme. Consul General appreciated the team of Indian Fine Arts Academy led by Shri Shekar Vishwanathan for its initiative in promoting Indian book, classical dances & music on a grand scale.
