Ambassador Taranjit Sandhu visited Qualcomm Institute at University of California San Diego (UCSD), a division of the California Institute for Telecommunications and Information Technology (Calit2) showcasing the path breaking research and the latest cutting edge technology. Ambassador also visited Scripps Institution of Oceanography which has collaboration with Indian Research institutions. Consul General Dr. T.V. Consul General Dr. T.V. Nagendra Prasad hoisted the Indian National Flag at a great event in Milpitas, California to celebrate #HarGharTiranga as a part of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav. The event was organised by the Association of Indo Americans (AIA). Thousands of people joined the parade and rally behind a giant flag. Consul General thanked the participations of elected officials, Milpitas Mayor Rich Tran, Santa Clara Supervisor Cindy Chavez, San Jose Mayor Sam Liccardo, Cupertino Mayor Darcy Paul, East Palo Alto Mayor Ruben Abrica, San Ramon Mayor Dave Hudson and Milpitas Chief of Police Jared Hernandez. Consul General appreciated the community leaders of Bay Area Telegu Association (BATA), Bay Area Tamil Manram (SFBATM), Malayalee Association of Northern California (MANCA) etc. - August 16, 2022
Consul General Dr. T.V. Nagendra Prasad had and engaging discussion with Utah Governor Spencer James Cox at the Gold Room of the magnificent State Capitol on August 10, 2022. Consul General and Governor had discussed the future cooperation and strengthening the India-Utah in Trade, Information Technology, Health and Education sectors. Governor appreciated the rich contributions of Indian community including Dr. Dinesh C. Patel to the ‘Industry’ state of Utah. Governor was appreciative of India’s diversity and human resource pool and hoped that India-Utah relations have much more potential to be harnessed. - August 12, 2022
Consul General Dr. T.V. Nagendra Prasad inaugurated the India Pavilion at ‘SOURCING at MAGIC Fashion Trade show Expo’ in Las Vegas on 07.08.2022. The expo was enthusiastically participated by over 130 Indian Exhibitors under the umbrella of Federation of Indian Export Organisations (FIEO) FIEO, Apparel Export Promotion Council (AEPC) AEPC, Council for Leather Exports, India (CLE) and Powerloom Development & Export Promotion Council-PDEXCIL. Few Indian American entrepreneurs in textiles also participated not only in textiles but related technology sector. The Indian exporters were happy with the good response they received from the largest market for Indian textile/apparel abroad. Also present on the occasion were Dr. A. Sakthivel, President, FIEO; Mr Narendra Goenka, Chairman, AEPC, Representative from CLE along with other dignitaries including MAGIC office bearers. - August 10, 2022
#Telugus in #Bayarea danced to popular numbers presented by budding Lyricist, Composer and Singer Ram Miriyala and his band at a concert organised by Bay Area Telugu Association (BATA). Consul General Dr. T.V. Nagendra Prasad presented a certificate of appreciation to the artist on behalf of BATA and highlighted the community’s enthusiastic connection with the latest in #Tollywood. Consul General Dr. T.V. Nagendra Prasad delivered keynote address at the 25th Anniversary celebrations of The Indus Entrepreneurs South California (TiESoCal) and launched TiESocal Los Angles (TiESocalAngels) Summit held in Los Angeles on July 29-30. Consul General in his address highlighted the significant role played by TiE in promoting Entrepreneurship, support in #StartupSpace and in strengthening India-US relations. Consul General appreciated the insights provided by stalwarts of the organisation Mr. Kanwal Rekhi, Mr. BJ Arun and the team in TiESocal. He particularly complimented the current President Mr. Ashish Saboo, past President Mr. Anshuman Sinha, Co-Founder Mr. Navneet Chugh for their services in southern California. In commemoration of the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, Consulate General of India – San Francisco organised a meet of Gadarites to recall the movement, its sacrifices and to pay tributes to leaders from the very historic Gadar Memorial Hall in #SanFrancisco. Consul General Dr. T.V. Nagendra Prasad in his remarks recognized the great sacrifices and contribution of the movement to India’s Independence struggle. Consul General congratulated the company’s initiative to help businesses to co-create & co-innovate 5G powered solutions to their technology. Consul General Dr. T.V. Nagendra Prasad thanked the Chairman Venugopal Surakanti, President Swaminathan Murali, former Chairperson Dr. Jyoti Sarma and entire team of Hindu Cultural and Community Center (HCCC) for inviting him to the 3rd Maha Kumbhabhishekam (once in 12 years) celebrations at Shiva Vishnu Temple at Livermore California. The event attracted thousands of devotees from near and far. Consul General appreciated the efforts & congratulated former & current board members of HCCC and various committees on conducting this landmark event successfully. Consular camps were held by the India in USA (Consulate General of India, San Francisco) at Santa Ana and Irvine in Southern California #SoCal on July 9, 2022. There was an enthusiastic response from the community during the registrations and on the day of camp. Over 200 people turned out for various services including attestations. VFS also sent their representatives to these camps. Special thanks to Srinathji’s Haveli of the City of Irvine, Mr. Gaurav Bhargava & team and St. Thomas Syro-Malabar Church for extending support in holding these camps. People at the camp highly appreciated the initiative. - July 11, 2022
