On Wednesday, February 19, the Consul General had the pleasure of interacting with students from USC’s Global Entrepreneurship class ahead of their upcoming visit to India (March 13-23). During the session, the Consul General discussed the Indian economy, business climate, investment opportunities, and the India-U.S. economic and trade relationships. He also encouraged students to embrace India’s diversity, food, culture, and dynamic business landscape while preparing for the unique experiences that come with their forthcoming visit to India. The group of 14 students will visit Delhi and Mumbai, engaging with entrepreneurs, startups, and accelerators, as well as exploring cultural landmarks, including Agra. We look forward to welcoming them to India and fostering greater collaboration in the global entrepreneurial space!

Srikar Reddy was honored to be present at the unveiling of Indian American Actress Mindy Kaling’s 2,800th star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame by the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce [HCC] this morning in Hollywood, Los Angeles. Around100 persons, including HCC President & CEO Steve Nissen, American Actor B.J. Novak, former US Ambassador to India Eric Garcetti, Avu Chockalingam (father of Mindy), and many film and TV personalities, participated in the event. Mindy Kaling, who received the star in the category of Television, is an Emmy-nominated writer, Tony Award-winning producer, New York Times best-selling author, director, and actor. Congratulations on this well-deserved honor!

Consul General, Dr.K.Srikar Reddy visited Honolulu, Hawaii as a part of a small delegation of San Francisco Consular Corps from January 15-17, 2025. During the visit, the delegation witnessed the opening of the 2025 legislative session and met with Governor Dr.Josh Green, Lieutenant Governor Ms.Sylvia Luke, President and CEO of the Hawaii Chamber of Commerce Ms. Sherry Menor-McNamara and legislators. It also provided an opportunity to explore avenues with various stakeholders to enhance collaboration in tourism, trade, and investment, and people to people ties between India and Hawaii.

Festival of Globe (FOG) Telugu Chapter in collaboration with the Consulate General of India in San Francisco organized Makar Sankranti celebrations at the Consulate Premises in San Francisco on January 11, 2025. The event included cultural and traditional activities such as Bommala Koluvu (doll display), kite making, and classical dance performances. Consul General Dr. K. Mr. Michael Fischman, a founding member and former president of the U.S. Art of Living Foundation, shared insights on the Art of Living Foundation's mission to spread the transformative power of yoga and meditation. The event attracted over 100 people from across Bay area. Shri Harish Kharbanda Consul spoke about the significance of yoga and meditation in promoting mental and physical well-being, emphasizing their role in fostering inner peace and resilience. The event concluded with a group session of guided yoga and meditation, leaving participants feeling refreshed and inspired. The gathering exemplified the shared commitment to wellness and unity across cultures.
