The Consulate General of India in San Francisco celebrated ‘India Food Festival’ as part of ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’. At the Food Festival organized in association with M/S Shastha Foods in Bay Area was attended by over 150 people across the spectrum of Indian community and Diplomatic Corps in San Francisco. Speaking on the occasion, Consul General Dr. T.V. Nagendra Prasad emphasized on Indo-US relations and significance of rich diversity of food of India. He mentioned about ‘International Year of Millets – 2023’.

Mr. Mani Krishnan, Chief of M/S Shasta Foods spoke about popularity of ‘Dosa’ and other foods and explained sourcing Rice from remote areas in India ranging from AP, Tamil Nadu to Manipur. He also talked about his Mission to popularize Millets. Michelin Star Chef Srijith Gopinathan of Taj Campton & Ettan from Bay area spoke about cuisines of India. A panel discussion was held on Millets (Consul General Dr. T.V. Nagendra Prasad, Mr. Mani Krishnan, Chef Srijith Gopinathan & an IITan), followed by sumptuous lunch, Orchestra and Comedy programme. This is the first ‘India Food Festival’ in Bay Area.
