Consulate General of India, San Francisco hosted the Philanthropy Summit 2025 on October 2nd, 2025 that was jointly organised by Indiapora Forum @IndiasporaForum and India Philanthropy Alliance @phil_india. The Summit also marked the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti, which is also observed as the United Nations International Day of Non-Violence.

The day began with a welcome note by Indiaspora Founder M.R. Rangaswami @mrsandhill and Nalini Saligram, Founder @ArogyaWorld, followed by welcome remarks from Consul General Dr. K. Srikar Reddy. Philanthropist, Desh Deshpande made a special presentation on 'What would Gandhi do if he were alive today'. Also, there was a special address by Raja Krishnamoorthi, Illinois Congressman, who spoke about the contributions of the Indian American community and the importance of deep India US partnership. The agenda featured interactive sessions such as a live Slido demo, a debate on measuring nonprofit overhead, fireside chats on diaspora philanthropy, and panels on the future of American philanthropy, youth perspectives, and the rise of “philanthropreneurs.”
